HalalSnap Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the HalalSnap mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

HalalSnap is an AI-powered assistant that analyses product ingredients and packaging to provide guidance on their likely halal status across categories such as food, cosmetics, dental and oral care, supplements, personal care, and others. The App can adapt its guidance to different Islamic schools of thought (madhhab) selected by the user.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App or its underlying services;
• Misuse, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, its accounts, or its credit system;
• Use automated means to access the service or to obtain credits in a manner not intended by the App.

5. Credits and the Community Model

HalalSnap uses a credit-based scanning model. Members receive free credits on a recurring basis, and may earn additional credits through community actions such as referrals or leaving a review, subject to the conditions shown in the App. Optional premium purchases help fund free access for the wider community.

Credits and promotional rewards have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money. We may adjust credit amounts, earning rules, and pricing at any time. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are also subject to those stores' terms, and any refunds are handled according to their policies.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its name, logo, design, and content, is owned by HalalSnap and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding without prior written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its guidance will be complete or correct.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HalalSnap and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the App's guidance, your use of or inability to use the App, or any decisions made based on its output.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
